what's the best way to play a lower note on a saxaphone without getting a *frack or squeak before it plays? I recently switched over from clarinet to saxophone- I opened up my ombecheure, but am still getting little squeaks before each low note. What can I do to fix this?

what i've been told for beginners is that you should drop your jaw. and once you get used to this, you will find your embouchure doesn't change as much.

You may want to experiment with the position of the reed on the mouthplace tip. Try moving reed even with the beak for charts requiring lower register. A softer reed will also assist on those notes. Good luck.

Oy, i remember back in beginning band when i had to go through that. What i did was drop my jaw slightly, and open my throught, and you may wanna try to say a low "O", which might help you a lot. Good luck on the sax, i remember when i switched to try the clarinet, the embochure was EXTREMELY unsual for me...lol, and i'm sure that's the same thing with you.
