i was thinking of joining NYB of canada, and was wondering what altissimo notes i should be able to hit to make it in the band? and any tips to improve my embourchure to hit these extravagantly high notes?

That depends on what instrument you are talking about. For clarinet, if it's a youth band, you probably need to be able to play up to Altissimo G. If it is a professional band you may occasionally need Altissimo A. Professional Orchestra players are expected to be able to play up to Altissimo C.

i'm sorry, i thought you'd know i meant my clarinet. this band is open to people in university and last two years in high school. which notes are these? is this the C, RT G#1--1--C#? or is the note an octave higher?

That's the one: RT G#1--1--C#. That's C7 and is the "official" top note of the clarinet given in all the books. You will very rarely find any music that needs higher notes.
