Well what you have written would be the alto sax's G myxolydian scale, which would sound like a Bb myxolydian scale... which I doubt is what you mean.
The scale G-A-B-C-D-E-F#-G, the G major scale for alto sax, would be the "concert" Bb major scale.

The much palled word "concert" does not apply to a guitar as guitar is not a transposing instrument.

yeah..i realize that in the concert Bb its f# on the alto sax...i jsut forgot to put the #sign and figured that it wouldn' matter cause i figured it out anyways.. :P ..i played alto in school and honour bands for many years and we'd always warm up with 'Bb concert' scales and exercises......so what would the guys/gurls with guitars be playing????....i dont really know much about guitars(ok..i know next to nohting..haha...)..but i know that they were playing somethign when we were all playing Bb.. :P ...i guess the way i worded my question before wasn' that great..hopefully this made more sence....

The guitar doesn't transpose like the saxophone does. On sax, if you're playing a concert Bb scale, you're actually fingering a G scale, which sounds as a Bb scale. A guitar will play a Bb scale that sounds as a Bb scale.
Bb C D Eb F G A Bb
