hi, I am going to try out for the orchestra at my church with the flute. Any tips or suggestions that I should do or know before I try out!? Any hints or tips or stuff to know about the flute or learn on the flute would be wonderful. Thanks!

learn scales mostly the scales with flats and a chromatic scale. Also be prepared to site read

but anyway just be confident if you feel that you already are and of course familiar with the basics like scales and stuff....
just don't practise too hard before the tryouts and face it with confidence like when you are playing in your usual band or self practise and so on.

just several important things:
never show the person you are auditioning for how scared you may be
take as much time as they will give you
sometimes it will be hard to play, and they may not expect you to play it perfectly
