 Trumpet

Yes, I know this is a woodwind forum, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites for brass fingerings (I need trumpet). Our jazz band isn't going to have any trumpet players next year, so the director is sending trumpets home with a few kids over the summer so we can play both our primary instrument, and then trumpet on some songs. He didn't have any reg. trumpets left when i went to see him, so he gave me a piccolo trumpet to practice on. Is it in the same key as a reg. trumpet? What are the differences? Anybody have any tips on learning the instrument?

Most piccolo trumpets are in A, some in Bb, pitched a major 7th, or an octave above your regular trumpet. Play what you would finger a C on your normal trumpet and see what note comes out, and that's your key.

Hi, I play a regular Bb Trumpet. I would recomend finding someone that knows how to play the insturment and then have them teach you. I have fingering charts that I could email you (if you trusted me). I am a senior in high school and have been playing in both a Jazz band and a Concert band for several years now. I have reached the point that I can play higher than any fingering chart (that I can find) shows the fingerings for. I have a chart that will show the fingerings from low F# (below the staff) to the high-high G (2 octaves above the G close to the middle of the staff). If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. If the site doesn't show my email addresses they are m_kinky10@hotmail.com or airforce_mk@yahoo.com. Please feel free to email me any time. I will do my best to answer any question.
