i cant reach a low F on sop sax, and im not sure why, i cant figure out if its the reed, the horn, or just me. anyway, if you can think of anything that might help, please tell me.

Just exactly what note do you mean?? The F on the bottom space of the treble clef is the lowest F on the saxophone.

Low F. one thing to try is to drop your jaw. to hit lower notes on the sax, you need to drop your jaw. to me(since i played clarinet) i feel like i'm just touching the reed for the lower notes. if thats not it, check your horn. you could have: a pad missing, screw not tight, springs loose, or worse, a key is bent! if these check out and you still have no idea whats wrong, change your reed. If it still doesn't work, take it to a music teacher(usually cause they're free) or to a music shop to get it checked. hope this helps

Can you get all the notes below low F (E, Eb, D, C#, C, B and B) or do you mean you can't get F or any note lower than it?
