Hey everyone...I've recently decided to work on my altissimo fingerings for tenor sax...anybody have any tips on embouchure to get those high notes out? Someone said something about biting the reed, but i don't know...any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

you should probably try to tighten up a little bit, and make the inside of you mouth as small as possible while still having you throat wide open, you could also try blowing a very powerful yet small stream of air if the notes are very short

hope this helps

never bite!
try to get the lower lips a LITTLE BIT lower than usual,
not too much, apply A BIT more pressure than usual, then you should get it. And remember, air support is the key!

Put more mouthpiece in your mouth and blow fast air but not too much. In this one book that teaches altissimo which i forgot the name of, it says to hiss like a cat and for this u have to tighten your throat which is kind of weird but when u get the hang of it loosen up more and more.
