I play the Bassoon, and the reeds just dont work, they are shaved down and everything, i've had my private lesson teacher look at them and my school band teacher and they cant figure it out either it feels like the air isnt even goin into the bocal, espeacially with high A and above and low D and below
This is a cruecial problem please help me!

maybe its not the reeds. the bocal might have a crack in it or something. that happened to one of my friends this week.

or maybe you don't have enough air support, for some very open double reeds it takes a tremendous amount of air for it to speak

The sides of your reed or the thread may have a leak as well. You can usually tell if the sides are open just by looking at them closely. You can also check for "suction" by cover the part of the reed that would attach to the bocal & sucking in on the top of the reed. If you feel suction, then there is no leak, but if there is any leak, you may get hardly any or no suction at all.
