I'm in Tennessee with out high school band. We're playing Little English Girl, by Gershwin. We have NO e-flat clarinets, so i decided to rent one (i play b-flat). But, I hit a slight problem. I don't know if the fingerings are the sam. Can anybody help me? Is the mid-staff, middle octave C on a b-flat clarinet the same C on an e-flat? Any help would be great!

Don't Worry, the fingerings are exactly the same as the Bb clarinet.
When you play a "middle C" on the E flat clarinet, you won't get the same note out as you do on the Bb clarinet, but the music is written to allow for this, so all you have to do is to read the music and play as if you were playing a Bb.
You will find that it is much harder to keep in tune in the higher notes than on a Bb instrument.

It is the same, because I play both Bb Clarinet and Eb soprano Clarinet. GOOD LUCK WITH IT BECAUSE I LOVE IT! **Just know that the Eb Clarinet is very hard to tune and keep it in tune!**
