I personly like the soprano sax better. **The guy that plays tenor in my band class is not cute at all!*** ( play Bb clarinet, Eb soprano Clarinet, C Flute, and the C piccolo)

I would have to say alto sax most definitely. The soprano's tone always sounded really thin and shallow to me, and very very one-dimensional. The alto on the other hand has a much more vibrant and bell-like timbre, when played correctly, of course. (And I'm very picky about what I mean by correctly).

Definitely alto sax. It's a good instrument to start out on and it doesn't go insanely low or high (unless you are a pro at the altissimo register). I would say stick to that.

I personally both alto/soprano sax in different ways. Soprano has a sexy sound such as jazzy sound somebody is going to get their groove on tonight whereas Alto sax has that classical sound but realistically it also has a beautiful sound same for
Soprano Sax. The difference is that Soprano has a much higher register whereas the Alto has a slight below register than the Soprano. But other than that I enjoyed playing both Alto and Soprano Sax.
