Hi Beckee. I knew your posts had a weird accent! Yes and as a Southerner I'm one to talk, right?

Anyway, I play on an AK series Loree oboe. Here in America Loree is still king, though there are other makers out there who are trying to dethrone them. I think something like 90% of professional players here play on Loree.

My girlfriend plays on a Covey oboe. Coveys are made here in the US in Atlanta, and are also very nice, but they definitely play differently than a Loree. Hers also has a Philadelphia D key which mine lacks.

My teacher also plays on a Loree AK series, but he also bought a Loree Royal oboe, which I think he is gradually warming up to. On the Royal the wood is thicker, and the tone is much darker.

Before I got the Loree, I played on a Yamaha YOB-811 oboe. It was ok, but not even in the same league as the oboe I have now.
