lol... that happen to me b4. all u have to do is get a a wet paper towle and clean it that way don't worry about scatching the flute ( its gonna happen anyway in the flutes life) (and yes flutes have souls hmmmm.... well mine has one)-anyways keep trying with the water - do not and i will say it again do not get ur pads wet what eva u do don't get it wet. (and don't stick a battery up up future piccolo or flute... dont ask) hehe i would say use acholo but i don't know that is how i cleaned my mouth piece.

You could get some kind of a special cleaning cloth, you know. Sometimes you won't even need to involve water. When I first got my flute(its an used flute), its quite tarnished and dirty and has black spots everywhere. So I pulled out and use my super duper cleaning cloth on it and voila! Sparkling brand spanking new looking flute. =) Ok ok not that perfect, lol, but close to it. Also, Flautist4now is right there, avoid getting water into those pads.

( i didn't do it i promise)hehe well anyways for the black spots i used acholo and for the tarnished spots ( the flute was black i told you) this is what she did , she rubbed it with water then she took a cloth with acholo with it ( be gentel with your flute, it is alive)it looked silver it was all pretty and stuff... hehe... but anyways i am soo sry that happen that to you and i wish u the best

If you don't want to scratch your flute just use a soft wash cloth. As long as you don't get any water on your pads your flute will be ok. Flutes should never rust. If they did every flute in my band would be rusting b/c no one ever wipes out their flute but me. Also it is only on the outside where it is most deffinently silver and silver don't rust. So you will be ok and don't half to wory about the flute rusting.

Well then Deshuan there deffinetely were pads on that Flute under neth the keys. Yes there are probably holes in the keys but there are pads around the key rings. Trust me I have an Open Hole Flute with a Closed G# and Lown B Foot.
