I just started the flute and i'm going through the fingering index and the E4 (1st octave) and E5 (second octave) list the same fingering??? Is it normal? If it's not, can someone give me the fingering for E5??? That's the one i'm having trouble with. Thanks.

Yeah, they are fingered the same but you have to blow just a little bit harder to get the second octave E. That also applies to all notes from first/second octave F to first/second octave C#/Db.

The force of your wind will effect the octave. the harder the wind the higher the octave.

You don't blow harder- this will result in an out-of-tune note. You technically blow faster, but harder works for beginners, too.
