I meant that I am interested in the Tenor recorder. I saw that it and the Soprano recorder are both in the key of C, so does this mean the fingerings will be the same????
Thanks,
Brooke

The fingerings for the Soprano and Tenor recorder are identical. The notes just sound an octave lower on the tenor. The Tenor recorder is a big instrument though. Some adults have difficulty stretching the fingers enough to reach the holes, and it is far too big for a child.

No offence meant to Gnomon, but I would just like to say that although the strech can be hard for some children, others can manage it just fine. It depends on the child. But yes, in answer to your question, the fingering's exactly the same. The lower notes are much harder to get on the tenor though.

How do you get a bottom c sharp on a tenor that has a key for the bottom hole?
