Hz stands for Hertz, which is the unit of measurement for frequency (cycles per second). When the frequency of sound waves changes, the pitch changes; a higher number Hertz = a higher pitch, and a low number = a lower pitch.

The note "A" was standardized as the tone with a frequency of 440 Hertz. Whenever you select 440, the tuning machine tunes every note with A = 440 as the basis for comparison. However, sometimes people for one reason or the other tune their instruments at a higher or lower pitch level, and that's why you have different selections for "A" on your tuner.

I have a second Keilwerth Sax, the condition is still OK. But when I checked with my chromatic tunner, it seemed my sax go off one and a half tone. The C key finger position (three key top, three key bottom plus one side key bottom) goes to D# tone. I have tried to change the mouthpiece position. Still It doesn't work. What should I do?
