 Hi,

I was looking into buying a relatively cheap flute to keep me company while I go overseas next year. Has anyone ever heard of the brand Bestler Rhythm/Hawk, and is it any good? I am not a beginner, but also am not a serious player.

Thanks!
Jessica

I've never heard of that. I've been a flute player for about 3 years. I suggest the Emerson brand. many of the other brands are a certain kind of metal that will tarnish or discolored however u would like to describe it. Emerson doesn't do that! Hope I helped!

Bestler is Chinese STAY AWAY STAY FAR AWAY!!!

Rhythm... also Chinese...

The Hawk looks interesting on Ebay due to the finishes, but although it says "Hawk USA" I highly doubt it is American, most likely Chinese, you can spray a nice coat of paint on a pile of Dog Doodoo, but you still have a pile of dog doodoo. Stay afraid stay very afraid and away.

Names that are respectable: Emerson, Pearl, Artley, Gemeinhardt, Sonore Winds, Haynes, Armstong, Selmer (Bundy), Deford, and there are others, but check out their websites if it looks good, if they don't have a website, they are typically too good to be true.
