I am playing a trio wind arrangement of a Schubert lieder, Auf dem Wasser zu singen.
The clarinet has a continuous sixteenth line (the piano part) which has repeated octave and octave+ slurred jumps (eg middle Ab to upper Ab, Ab to Bb, F to Gb).
Is there any technique to simplify these large slurred jumps?
Thank you

a great reminder of how nuanced and challenging wind arrangements can be! Those large slurred jumps in Auf dem Wasser zu singen really test a player's control and musicality. It’s fascinating how even a small adjustment in technique can lead to a more fluid performance. Have you tried incorporating any specific exercises to strengthen your fingerings for those intervals?
