I recommend the Maui Xaphoon if price is a concern.
You can write to Brian Lee Wittman

You can also order it from Lark in the Morning (It's only $45.00.)

Try it! I have the standardisised Plastic version in use since last thursday and always carry it with me to play it during waiting for the tramway. And twice a day at home! It brings me back to music after 20 years!! There is a good homepage: xaphoon.com The sound of the bamboo versions is more warmer but you had to take more care for the Instrument. I found in a shop hier in vienna also a wooden (very well done) pocket sax, wounderfull sound, but more as twice the price of the original xaphoon.

I have the following:
Maui Xafoon Bamboo Sax
A must for every reed man (or woman). For less than the price of a mouthpiece you can own this carefully crafted instrument. Produces 2 chromatic octaves, range similar to a soprano sax (in the key of C), fits easily in a pocket, uses standard tenor sax reed WIN018 SOUND $56.00
I pasted this from their website. You can have mine that comes with a cloth cover and teaching book for $40.00. I've recently purchased a flute off of Ebay and not interested in the bamboo sax anymore. My id on Ebay is Jla2ndVP if you want to see my feedback.
