this is so pathetic but, can some one tell me how to count in 12/8 and 3/2 please!

3/2 is the same as 3/4 except the half not gets one beat instead of a quarter note. 12/8 is counted in two sets of six, or 4 sets of 3. 123 456 789 10/11/12

Yeah if you wanna hear 12/8 just listen to "Earth Angel" or some other old 50's love song. The 12/8 is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

Also, if you take 6/4 and reduce that fraction, you get 3/2 which is no coincidence.

The weirdest time signature I ever saw was (2 & 1/2)/4. I was like what am I a math major? Yes that is two and a half four. I was like come on dude just bump that fraction up a little bit to 5/8 and quit trying to be creative.

Much of music is math.
