No, the Alto Sax and Flute do not have the same fingers. I know, I play them both. There are many similiarities between them but they are definitely not the same, especially when you get to the 3 octave on each.
Sax and clarinet share some similarities in fingerings also, but only in one octave. Other than that octave,they are completely different.

To say that the flute and saxophone have the same fingerings is completely wrong. EVERY and ANY instrument has fingerings unique to its construction. Because of the system of the fingerings (Boehm or whatever), some fingerings on one instrument may be similar to the fingerings on another but they were never intended to be the same. Also because of the size of the instrument and the limitation that 10 fingers (8 fingers and two thumbs for people who like to be correct) gives us, the fingerings of some instruments are similar.

Nope... The sax and flute fingerings aren't the same, but they are similar in a lot of ways. I'm learning to play sax and it's a lot like flute, but there are some differences.

good luck on the flute. i play flute and am starting on the Bass Clarinet and im having quite a bit of luck. my teacher says that out of everyone thats tried. im the one picking up the fingerings the best on it. even though im reading flute music for bass clarinet....
