 detache, staccato, etc

are detache and staccato the same thing? what is the difference, similiarities, meaning, of detache, staccato, shortissimo staccatissimo?

Yes they are different.Stacoto is a short quick sound.Detache is short but not so quick.

Well.....
Detach means separated.
Staccato has to be played light and with half its original note value. Apparently definitions say that staccatos have to sound light and detached. I find this the most reasonable and good interpretation.
