Is there any advise on breaking in a new Tenor saxophone? I'm only asking because I just tried out my soon to be tenor, and I had trouble playing anything in the staff below B. Any advise would be greatly apreciated.
Thank you,

Sounds more like an adjustment problem or possibly a leaking pad. Have the shop service and adjust the sax and try it again before you buy it. They should be able to to this and shouldn't charge anything for it. Also, typically a music store will offer a free adjustment after a month or two, some up to six months after you buy it. If this is a brand new instrument, you should get it in perfect working condition. If this is a private seller, then tell them to get the sax fixed or offer a deep discount so you can get it fixed.
If after all this it still doesn't play and you have verified that it is not you causing the issue, then don't buy it.
