 clarinet problems

I'm having some trouble going from a high E to a high A, where I start to squeak. When i try again with ample breath support, the A sound goes squeaky again. Other than that my notes are solid. I dont think its the instrument as its in good working condition. Does anyone know what my problem is?

Check your fingers foremost. When you do the interval leap does your fingers arrive on the fingering exactly on time? It's very normal. Try playing A first, if it sounds then most probably it's a fingering problem, if it's not - try asking the ppl at http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/
