Hello!
Can anybody tell me what is the thing called "E mechanics" on flutes? I've seen a notice about this on some flutes in a music store... I play flute for two years, but I just don't even know if my flute has the "E mechanics" or not

Errr...the split E mechanism? I play the flute for 4 months only and I'm not sure what it does but my guess is it makes the note E3 speak clearly.

The split e mechanism is a mechanism on certain flutes that makes e3 easier to play. E3 on most flutes is an overtone of A. Thus, it is difficult to play nicely. On certain flutes (Pearl and Yamaha are all that I've seen) the split E mechanism can come as part of the flute. You might be able to find a mechanism that is able to be attatched at something like woodwindbrasswind.com.
