Does anyone know if the Presstini system of English Horn keys is dramatically different than the typical kind? Also, does anyone know of the Cabart English Horn's reputation? I'm looking at a used one as we speak.

hi, I know this isn't on topic, but since the topic is about english horns, i figured this was the best place to ask. I play the oboe and want to learn the english horn, is the fingering different from the oboe, or is it similar?

It's very similar, but your thumb will hurt, because the EH is heavy! Also, halfholes are slightly different, because there is no "halfhole" but two keys next to each other.

well yes very similar, and not really heavy but once you get a good production out of it...heavenly!! I sometimes prefer the sound of the En. Horn over an oboe lol
