 Oboe Problem
Author: Oboe

Okie doke .. so I looked online and either just didn't put in a good search topic or something.

I've been repairing my school's student model Linton oboe and I've finally gotten it to where there is only one problem left. But I don't know how to fix it.

The Problem - when you push down the secong RH key, the C-key drops as well.

My Problem - the screw that is connected to the C-key will not budge and is stripped (probably from people trying to unscrew it without realizing that it is NOT going to move). Also, there is no screw AT ALL where the C#-key is connected to the rod.

I'm sure it would be a lot of help if that screw would move, but alas it will not.
So, do you know how to make the C-key stay up instead of falling when the 2nd RH key is pressed?
Or, do you have any idea how much it would cost to have this screw removed, that key adjusted, and a new screw put in?

Thanks.

The C key is supposed to go down with the C# key; I'm sure of it.

Yes, it is. But that isn't the problem. The problem is that the C key falls by itself whenever the second RH key is pressed down.
