Okay, okay, okay....There are about a gazillion accessories for every instrument out there. From ligatures to folding stands and gig bands, the market is flooded with stuff. Some of them are pretty cool.... and others were well... not exactly worth the money.
What are/were some of your experiences you'd like to share?
Me, I am waiting for a Vandoren (sp?) Optimum ligature top come in the mail... My friends are playing on them now and really like them. I am skeptical-
Is it really worth the price tag? Hmmmmmm I'll let you know.

I changed from the lig that came with my clarinet to a BG Revelation which is a leather inverted lig. I couldn't believe the difference it made.

I tried out my new Vandoren optimum lig. with a combination of mouthpieces and reeds. This is what I found to work the best on my clar. The Optimum with the "jazzy" plate (has 4 small dots to hold the reed in place), a Vandoren B-45 mouthpiece and a Mitchell Lurie Premium reed #4 was like but-tah.
Yeah yeah I know the Mitchell Lurie is soft anyway, but for a very long rehearsal it really was cool not having to put much effort into the piannisimo (sp?!?) parts.
