I,ve owned two tenor saxes ...a recent yamaha and now a Conn super conqueror from 1937 . Both hve been afflicted with a tendancy for the g# to stick itself down ( its not a spring issue , solely the key " glueing" itself in position and not responding when I hit the left-hand little finger key .....any remedial ideas

A little bit of No-Stick pad powder (I have heard baby powder works too) should do the trick.

I've heard that saxophone pads by Jim Schmidt have solved that problem for some. I'll post the web site if a search doesn't locate it easily for you.

What I do to remedy this is take a dollar bill fold it up and then put it under the pad. Then close the key down on the bill and move the dollar around. You can also have a flat spring put under the G# lever so that when you press the key the sring will bring the G# key up. You would have to have some one who knows what they're doing to put this on your sax but it would eliminate your problem completely.

This web site shows a picture of the G# lever design and they can add it to your saxophone if you've got the money also.
