Hi I am wondering what the difference between a Oehler System clarinet and a Boem system clarinet is. and where can I find information about them? I mean it looks really cool, I have seen a few pictures, but I am wondering if there is a big difference besides a few extra keys and whatnot. so any imput that I could get from anyone would be much appreciated.

You should ask this question on the Sneezy clarinet board.

There are a few differences between the two types of clarinet:
1. they use two different fingering systems. Not just the keys but the finger holes are in different places. You can get the fingerings for each here are WFG.
2. they use different diameter bores, so that they sound different. I can't remember which uses a narrower bore, but the general result is that German (Oehler) clarinets sound brighter and lighter, while Boehm clarinets sound darker, warmer and more mournful.
3. German clarinets tend to use kid leather pads instead of fish bladder pads
4. German clarinets use hand-made reeds held on with string instead of factory reed held on with a leather or metal ligature.
5. For some reason, German clarinets have no metal ring around the end of the bell.
