Alas! I need more advice. At my audition there will be a sightreading piece. I have only 30 seconds to look over it before I play. I'm really bad at sightreading. Does anyone have any tips?

just try real hard to concentrate on the music once u get it in front off...think about wut things u usually have trouble with in music...and focus on those parts...ull be fine...i always freak out when im about to sight read..but just take a couple of breaths,...and let ur fingers do the thinking for u....good luck !

if u make a mistake DO NOT STOP! that is my biggest problem. i always stop and see if i can fix the mistake. but u can't do that at an audition. remember to check for key and time signature changes. If there is a coda, see where it goes and make a note to remember it.
also, my teacher told me something interesting a while ago. sometimes we only make mistakes because we are not sure of ourselves, and so we check to see if it sounds right. this uses more of our brain, and can slow us down and make us loose focus. So just beleive in yourself.
hope this helps, and good luck

remember to look at the sharps and flats, an look through to see if there are any difficult fingerings.

Always go over the parts that are harder for you. Watch for accedentals.
