Any creams made esp. for canker sores are usually best. Although I find rinsing my mouth with a water/hydrogen peroxide mix helps the sore close up faster, and takes away the sting. (but don't swallow it!

if playing on it hurts, just try not playing for a few days, and putting maybe vaseline on it - i had to do that two different times and didn't getta play my oboe...but if you don't play your instrument while you have it, it'll help a lot more than if you do.

I once had a kanker sore and my band director told me to just finger through the class until it was gone. I did that and it worked with the help of vasiline (mentioned by Oboe). Don't worry it'll be gone soon:)
