 hand position for flute

do you hold both hands the same direction for flute or right hand facing out and left facing in? also which side is the correct side to hold the flute on, left or right?

You hold the flute to the right, the left hand should be facing inward (palm toward you) the right should be facing outward (palm towards music).

Your left hand is away from your body with your fingers pointing towards you. Your right hand is by your shoulder and your fingers point to whatever is in frront of you. Your flute should jet out toward the right of your body. Also if you judt began playing remember sloppy fingers (or fingers that wiggle or slide around and aren't promptly on top of your keys) are horrible. Don't blow too hard and have fun!
