I'm an experienced college flute player and have just recently (this past week) taken up playing Alto flute for my schools flute choir. Is it true that the range on the alto flute is from G below middle C to third octave G? and if so what is the fingering for the notes in the lower octave below C. I can't seem to find any information on this and would appreciate any help.

the fingering is the same of flute in C, but the sound is a fifth lower (wneh you finger a low C, you play a low G)

I have recently joined a flute choir at my school also and I was wonder if anyone knows where I can find a fingering chart for it. But, I have heard that the fingerings are the same. Is that true? That is it and I would appreciate any help.

Does anyone have any observations/opinions re: instrument response when playing 2nd octave d,e,f, and especially e flat? These sound particularly "windy" on my instrument and sometimes without sound completely. First thought it was embouchure, but am starting to think that perhaps these notes are less flattering on the alto. Thoughts?
