 Advice on a beginner Sax

I need a little advice on what Alto Saxopone to purchase for a beginner. I havent had the chance to check my local music stores for a used but I did come across a Selmer BundyII Sax for $500 that looks pretty good but I wouldnt know other than obvious problems.
If I dont see somthing used I have found these Sax's that are within my budget,
Ravel
Old's
Amati
Winston
Jupiter
Kohlert
Any of these be decent enough to learn on?
Any I should stay away from?
Any others to consider?
I can go uo to about $700 then in the futur I can look for a nicer Sax.
Thanks

Errrmmmm... i've not had any experience on any of those saxes, but I hear jupiter and kohlert are okay. Do you have a teacher or something? Because they usually know of anyone trying to sell a sax, and could help you with this problem.

Go with the Jupiter. They make decent saxaphones.Definitely good enough for you to start playing on and to learn.

I was in the same position when I started playing recently. I bought a used mint Yamaha YAS-23 for $500. (I'm told I got a great deal; they usually go for about $750-800 in the same condition mine is in.) It's a great beginner horn, and I'm extremely happy with it. You can easily get one in very good condition for $500-700.

See if you can hire one to start with. If you find you don't like it then you haven't wasted several hundred dollars. If you do take to it, in a year or two you will be looking to upgrade to a better instrument and will have still wasted several hundred dollars on a cheap one.

Jupiter is probably the only one on your list, mark, that I'd want anything to do with.

Kohlerts of decades ago were supposedly so-so, modern one's (it's a recycled name, not made by the original Kohlert company) look very poor in construction. I'd stay away from anything else on that list, quite frankly.

Here's some others you might be able to afford:

Vito
Antigua Winds
Selmer USA

there are also a number of used or vintage instruments that would be suitable.

THe bundy 2 is a great saxophone, and i believe that it would be great for beginners. I have a bundy myself and i would personally vouch for it

Ohh... Limited options, huh? Well.. Jupiter is ok... But whenever you get the chance to get a nicer sax... go with a yamaha or a Selmer! those are nice saxophone brands!!!
