notes are notes. they are just in different spots. on a treble clef, the middle line is a B, in Bass it's a D. the note names are moved two spots down. C on a treble is a E etc. it comes from the Grand staff, thats the staff with both the treble and bass clefs attached to eachother similar to what piano plays on. Middle C, is the note that seperates Treble and Bass clefs. Middle C is the not one ledger ine below the Treble staff, and one ledger line above the Bass staff. all it is, is, repitition. going over the staff and testing yourself to read what note name it is. playing an instrument in bass clef helps aswell. hope this helps.

I started on A. Sax(treble) and then moved to Bassoon(bass) as my primary instrument. It isn't that hard, once you get used to it. It could take a month or two to completely think of B instead of G and A instead of F but, in due time, you'll get it. I thought it was hard aswell at first but now I think it's easier than treble cleff.

Tip - write a piece in bass. It helps you learn the clef. I wrote a string quartet and when I went onto viola a couple of weeks after I found I could read half of the notes aleady. So yes, practise reading it, but write in it for a few weeks too.
