recently i studied a band piece requiring me to slur, rather phrase a mid Eb to altissimo Eb, how can this be done with more efficiency when put in practise? which high Eb fingering should i use? considering that both left and right mid Ebs' are useable.

for the high range, i always go through all of the alternate fingerings (on this great site lol) and i find the one that works best. for your case, i would finger the middle Eb as regular with the Eb key in the right hand, then for the high Eb, i would use first (half hole), second third and Ab key (all in the left hand) and then possibly the C key in the right hand, depending on tuning, sumtimes i find you need it, sometimes you wont.
-hope this helps, ryan

Just use both regular fingerings. Increase your air intensity when you are slurring from the Mid-Eb with the fingering (1/2 2 3 | 1 2 3 Eb) to the Altissimo-Eb with (1/2 2 3 B | 2 3). If you just use the regular fingerings but increase your air speed, it will speak just fine.

The option remains of touging lightly and connecting the air through the other octave, so it sounds like a phrase, even without a slur. I often "cheat" like this for octave slurs down.
