Is there any one out there that thinks that reeds break to easily and then they are really expensive to replace.
I think that they should come up with a discount for students playing instruments so that they are not so expensive if you feel this way too respond!

Reeds are what make your insturment work, and if you're not willing to pay a buck or two for a reed maybe you should consider another insturment, or not play anymore?

it depends, what instrament you play, and what cut and brand of reed you, get on expansiveness.

Try ordering them online by the box; they're cheaper. Also, teach students right away how to care for them (or learn yourself). Never drop them, bite them, leave them on your instrument and set it on the floor. Put them away in a NOT-airtight case as soon as you're done with them. Soak them in water in the winter time. If you care for them, they will not break. My reeds will last months at a time (until they wear out) without breaking. On the marching field is one thing; indoors is another.
