depending on your level of playing,
for beginners : Rico....
for intermediate players: Rico Royal, Mitchell Laurie, La Voz.....
for advanced students and professionals : Rico Grand Concert Select, Vandoren, Gonzalez........

Adding to what "richard" said, remember to get the right size! If you are a beginner:2 maybe 2 1/2, intermediate:2 1/2 or 3 possibly 3 1/2 advanced: 3 1/2+. Good luck playing!! PS-- I've been playing clarinet for 4+ years and my fav reed is the Mitchell 3 and a half! PSS-- remember to sand!! if you don't its well... just remember to sand all new reeds when dry.

All good advice, but you should check first to see if you actually need to sand the reeds. Some reeds are fine right out of the box. Also, keep in mind that reed #'s vary between brands. For example, a Rico 3 1/2 is about the same as a Vandoren 3. There are some reed comparison charts online that you might check out.

Where can I find such a reed comparison chart?
I've been playing on Vandoren n°3 for years now, recently I tried Vandoren V12 n°3,5. They have a very warm and deep sound, even for higher notes! Who uses them too?
