Use your diaphragm to vary the flow of to air outlet into the clarinet, just like the flute.

However as a custom, people rarely use vibrato in classical music. They use it in modern and jazz music for better tone color.

Infact, it will sound odd if you play vibrato in the second movement of the Mozart's concerto for clarinet

Vibrato in classical clarinet sounds awful - don't do it! (That's my opinion - you must find your own style). If you are trying to make the tone on long notes more interesting, try a gentle rise and fall in volume - not a lot, just enough to make the tone warmer. Even in jazz, I do not like too much vibrato. When I play jazz clarinet, I sometimes use a very light vibrato on longe notes, again to add some warmth to the tone. Playing any instrument with vibrato takes practice, so follow Richard's advice and have a go.

OF COURSE
a lot of players are breaking the 'rules' nowadays
just listen to richard stoltzman and sabine meyer
just try to learn it as a sort of additional coloring tool...too much will never be good on the clarinet ....too little is never bad.......hehe

if you choose to use vibrato on clarinet, never on any circumstances go side-to-side on your reed. that sound horrible and effects your pitch considerably. always use your diaphragm or your jaw oscillating up and down rapidly. hope this helps.

I played both saxophone and clarinet for a few years and vibrato is not for clarinet, unless it is for jazz. Besides, I think clarinet sound is charming enough without vibrato for it can flow like wind, and bounce like waterdrops. Just work on getting a nice, clear notes.

Whatever you do, do NOT play like Jaques Lancelot!

Often, especially in the higher register, vibrato can be done by altering the pressure of your lower jaw on the reed. It can also be done my moving your throat back and forth (which is also how you bend notes), like you're saying eeeuuuwwwuueeeuuwwwuueee.
