I play the clarinet. I had gatorade and played on my instrument, and it discolored my reed. It is now slightly red. Will it in anyway affect my sound or anything.

Well, I did that once or twice in my earlier years on my oboe reeds. It tends to make reeds break easier.. and they stay quite soggy. Causing rot when this happens. It may affect your sound, depending on how discolored it is. I advise getting another reed since reeds for clarinets cost very little compared to oboe or bassoon reeds..

YOU SHOULD NOT DRINK GATORADE WHILE PLAYING CLARINET!!!
this seems harsh, but even anything with a little sugar should not be eaten or drinkin while playing the clarinet. 3 or 4 years ago when i was in 7th grade, my friend becca used to always eat in band class. be it pixie stix or mints or gum, she didnt do it often, but she did do it about 20 times. towards the end of the year, she was putting her clarinet together and it snapped in half. not the stacks coming apart, but her lower stack snapped in half. howwever amount of sugar is in anything, you shouldnt have while playing a reed instrument. the sugar in the stuff she had rotted the inside, and it was a plastic clarinet too. please, for the love of the instrument, do not consume any sugar while playing a reed instrument. I tell this story to the freshman every year, not to eat gum because it can ruin an instrument, and it costs a pretty penny to get fixed as well.

No, This will NOT affect your sound at all!!!! I did that once while playing my tenor, and nothing happened. come to think of it, i once ate a starburst while playing the national anthem... and the only thing that happened was my keys got stuck and i had clean them... that was it....
