Why is it that every one automatically assumes that because the sax has more "buttons" that it is harder to play?
so confused with the logic of the masses.

well for once i don't think that because i play alto and bari and i tried to play the trumpet and my tone sucked, plus when i was in sixth grade all the beginning people chose instruments and the only people who couldn't play well, were the trumpets. I can see why it's hard. And they're aren't "buttons", they're keys!

that is exactly my point, people need to learn to accept the fact that just because and instrument has more key doesnt mean it is harder to play thanks for taking the time to reply. :-)
I was getting tired of all of the questions about how to play the sax with so many keys on it.

Trumpet player here. I think alto sax is way easier to start on learning but trumpet is WAY easier to master than alto.

Loads of people try out their friend trumpet or whatever, and can't make a note within the first minute, so they write it off. Its like learning french over german; french begins harder, but german is more complicated in the end!
