Alvaro,
I would get the E-11. It is a nice all wood horn that is quite a bit cheaper than the R-13. I have played the E-11 before and it is wonderful. Unless you are planning to play the clarinet long after high school, i would stick with the E-11.

Hey,

I am currently a year 12 student, and i previously owned an E-11 from grades 9 until about june (ish) of this year and have just upgraded again to a RC prestige. My advice is... and i know this will probably sound a little strange coming from a student... but I would go with the R13 straight up if you think your child is going to keep at it for longer than highschool. I know its a lot more money to go with the R13, but in selling my E11 and upgrading only 2 years after I bought my E11, I lost almost half of what I paid for the Clarinet, and thats a fair chunk of money just to be throwing away for a short period of time. An E11 isnt a professional instrument, its a stepping stone between a student model and a professional instrument. A R13 is a pro instrument, and sounds pro, and your child will be able to use it into what ever career he/she seeks (that is if they follow music into further education).
Just a reminder that this is advice coming from someone who did buy an E11 when i didnt know that I wanted to keep doing music after school, but if i had have known, i would have gone for the pro instrument straight away cause its money and time (cause i had to re-adjust to a new instrument all over again) that i didnt need to waste.
Kind regards
happy playing and hunting
Jazz
