what's up with the buffet elite clarinet it has not JOINT rings. there is no silver line between the mouthpiece and the barrel, barrel and the top joint, top joint and the bottom joint. does that make a difference?

The description at the Buffet website says it has polycarbonate-reinforced tenons. I assume this means that some sort of plastic is used to strengthen the joints so that they don't need rings. This makes it look nice, but doesn't affect the sound.

It has not joint rings because of the way the wood is made and how light it needs to be the rings would not give it such a clean sound.
