i've been splaying on the same clainet of 8 years. and just recently i spent 200 freaking dollars on having ALL of the pads and cork stripped and replaced and i got keys unbent.having done this i was hoping it would be a while before i did something towards a new clarinet. the clarinet is a student, of which i have surpassed. in fact is it the selmer usa cl300 i think. it's plastic. it's not even 'wood streaked' (freakin' piece o'junk!! >@ (mad face))i want a wooden buffet crampon a paris model but i am light of cash. what is a good make and how much would that run. suggestions of buffet are even sweeter but anything helps

You may buy a used buffet r13. You can find a good one at ebay for about 400 to 1200 dollars.

Carolyn has a good point.

You're student clarinet has just been serviced and if competently done, should play well. An Ebay clarinet could need extensive repairs despite what the ad says.

I have a clarinet that I am trying to sell. It's not a Buffet but it's a wooden Yamaha clarinet model 450 (I do believe so). I'm only asking $350-$400 for it. I only played it for a year and a half. It's practically in mint condition...case included of course. If you need a mouthpiece I have a premiere I'll sell you for $20 with it. If you are interested e-mail me and let me know. If not...Good Luck!!

if u spent that much money on a clarinet why get a new one, a brand new clarinet is way more expensive! maybe if you keep it in good condition for a good while it may be worth something. a plastic clarinet is just as good as a rubber or wooden one!!!! dont think just because someone u kno has a better one dont mean nothing. atleast you got one!

I HAVE A PLASTIC CLARINET! how rude!
