Hey, primarily I was wanting someone to tell me about, or give me the URL to help me a bit with flutter tonguing on the flute. I believe there are two ways to acheive this? Throat and tongue? Am I correct? Someone please help.
Also, are there any articulation tricks like this for the oboe?

Yes the throat tone is achieved by making a growling sound in the back of your throat while playing.
The tongue tone is achieved basically by rolling your tongue while blowing into the horn. Of the two, the throat sounds less subtle and the toungue makes low notes more difficult to play.

It is achieved the same way a rolled-r sound in the spanish language is created. I know some people who no matter what cannot physically attain this sound, but they're very few. Place your lower jaw slightly below your upper teeth, as if you are breathing very shallow. (shallowy? shallowish?). Relax your tongue and move it slightly up between your palate and lower teeth, and breathe out- if you are doing it correctly, it should vibrate very rapidly between your palate and lower teeth. I'm sorry, this is very hard to describe- if it's not a natural ability of yours, it can be very difficult to learn. But I encourage you to keep trying!

It's hard...... and i do'nt understand why you would want to, seeing as...well, oboes aren't exactly jazz instruments. You might trying it on something simpler, and seeing if you can do that. Try a straw,

Ok, I can do a flutter tongue the way ... well, when you make that growling sound in the back of your throat. Butt!! it's really hard to achieve it in the high register. Can ANYONE explain an easier way to do it??
