HI i was interested in knowing if anybody plays a helmke model tenor sax and if they are worth anything when you play em you know.

hi i have a helmke alto sax just bought off of ebay about a month ago, black laquer with gold keys, plays great and i got it at a great price if you are buying from adeal4u then you are dealing with the right people.

I had never heard of such animal; however this sax was a gift and it actually plays very well. I use a Brilhart #3 mouthpiece. The plastic mouthpiece that came with it was terrible, not that Helmke manufactured it.
This sax had several pieces of cork inserts holding certain keys.At first it sounded terrible, like a 6th grade band student. I removed the corks.
I have not done any research to on Helmke. This sax has no serial number. and I have no idea how much it could be worth.
