HI there,
I'm not musician and I need help. I have always loved the sax and always wanted to learn to play but it never happened. Then I saw juan playing his del rio sax at venice beach and had to buy one. I have a little experience with the recorder and guitar. anyway, I can get a good note out of all of the holes except the bottom two (the lowest notes) What am I doing wrong? I just sound like a goose. help me please I want to play it is fun. And is there any pointer anyone can give me? Thank you so much please e-mail me. woodstock777@sbcglobal.net

drop your jaw, those bottom notes are hard notes to get out. dropping the jaw will get those notes out and when you get comfortable you'll be able to move your jaw less and less. you want to be able to move your jaw very little to get these notes. also use long tones. this means to play one note for 16 or 24 counts(beat=60). and progressively play lower notes, your embouchure will get used to playing these notes, and this will improve your tone quality and range, also breath control, will help your phrasing, and increase your lung capacity. you can use long tones to go higher as well, your embouchure will learn to adapt to going firmer as you go higher. hope this helps.

I have not found a fingering chart for the del rio anywhere. it seems to be like the penny whistle however I can't figure out what the thunb hole is for. It seems not to be a D or an octave hole. Where do I find information?

I was just playing my Del Rio Sax that I bought at a art show in Palm Beach Gardens, FL... No wonder he didn't let anyone try it -- pretty tough.

Yet, I still like it... Anyone got any music, I lost my brief instruction sheet I got with it...

Would basic flute music work?

Thanks... Richard
