I am play alto sax, clarinet and bari sax.
I am having trouble finding a good combo of reeds/mouthpiece.
i am currently using rico jazz select 3m reeds and a yamaha 5c mouthpiece (which i hate!)
My band teacher suggested a mouthpiece called rpc, but it is very spendy
On the alto sax i play a Meyer 5
Would a Meyer mpc be good for a bari Sax also???

A good mouthpiece to consider is the Selmer C**(C double star) mouthpiece. The Selmer C* mouthpieces are highly recommended for ALL Saxophones for non professionals who have found their particular mouthpiece, but the C** is a bit more free-blowing that proved quite well with Bari Sax.

 Shawn,
The trouble with mouthpieces is that everyone & every horn is different. In other words, you need to pick the right piece for you & your horn.
I dissagree about the C**. They are an old concept in design, & are only good for orchestral work (especially on Bari).
Take your horn down to your local shop & spend some time. Play every mouthpiece they have & make an informed decision yourself. Don't let a salesman tell you what you need.
Try & buy something 2nd hand, you'll get a mouthpiece at the "RPC" standard for the price of a new C**.
 I hope this helps.
 Cheers,
 Jason.
