im playing flight of the bumblebee from legend of the czar sultan on flute. how many of you own/have played this music??? anyway i don't know where i should take breaths. i'm kinda hoping whoever answers this has at least seen some part of this music. anyway the phrase are like this (i'm going to represented by the ()s ) its all sixteenth notes in 2/4 (e,d#,d,c# d,c#,c,b | c,b,bflat,a g#,g,f#,4)(e,d#,d,c# d,c#,c,b|c,b,bflat,a g#,g,f#,4) (e,d#,d,c# d,c
#,c,b | e,d#,d,c# d,c#,c,b)and so on. those were just the first six mesuresnow you'd probably think just take a breath after each phrase but the music is going way to fast throughout the entire song to do so. if you have seen the music, when should i breath in the course of all these chromatic scales. also i have trouble jumping from low b (below middle c) and up to e (just above middle c0 so anyway when does anyone suggest i take a breathe?

Do you have the sheet music for flute? I have the Voxman transcription for flute, which is a pretty popular edition. What you have written down is the intro, which isn't played by the flute. And in the transcription for flute, you shouldn't have to play low B. Four-bar-phrases are generally okay in this piece, and not very hard, as the meter is 2/4 and the tempo is pretty quick. Take small, quick breaths, and you should be fine.

if there are more people playing it then you all just need to make sure you stagger your breathing(don't have everybody breathe at the same time) that way the flute sound will be continuous and there shouldn't be any problem
if it is just you then take small, quick breaths like Amanda said. hope this helps

if its a solo, and its in 2/4 (i cant remember), take a breath after the 4th measure. The first four should repeat twice. Take a breath after its done repeating but before it goes into the two groups down. Another thing you can do is sing it, paying very close attention to where you breath. Then, when you play it, breath in exactly the same spots.

if your mucic dont tell you when to breath you could do it anywhere but i sugest the end of every 4 measues
