i was playing the vivaldi concerti in c major and there is a low c in the music!!! and the music is for piccolo in c. well actually it said or flute or soprano recorder. well if it was the flute okay. but the music was written for piccolo so why would the low c (middle c) be there? and what do i do about it?

you might want to choose an alternative note like E or G would probably work best. but if you NEED to play the C (i don't recomend this, because who knows what note you actually got) roll in as much as possible and play next to a tuner to see if you hit the C (you might not but if you need to its worth a try.)

This was written for a sopranino recorder, not a piccolo. C isn't possible. You can get a C# if you cover the end of the picc with your right pinky finger. Heather is right in saying you can only find an alternate note, which will probably be an E. Otherwise, you can take a look at the phrase that the low C is in and take it up an octave.

A few of the new piccolos are made with low cs but don't worry about not playing the c. As suggested, play a harmonic note, the octave higher, or leave it out.
